Traveling Europe With A Continental Breakfast

There may be many variations of a continental breakfast in different locations across Europe, a good breakfast will always have an abundance of four of the main food groups including grains, dairy, meat and fruit.

As in most European dishes, grains are the dominant food group of a continental breakfast. Your morning bread is different in different countries with variations of the local cuisine.

For example, in French-speaking countries croissants, baguettes and pastries are normally found on the morning table, while in other countries, you will find a local variety of bun or bread rolls that will be different from region to region.

You may be offered a wide range of local spreads to place on the morning bread rolls and buns, including fresh butter, wild honey and homemade jams.

If you like to add milk to your cereal, then note that in Europe, milk usually has a much higher fat content, so the taste and texture is very different from the milk you normally have with your breakfast.
