Creating Your Own Bbq Sauce

A basic bbq sauce recipe should have some white vinegar with molasses and mixed in a saucepan over medium heat. You can change the taste of the sauce by replacing vinegar with cider.

Ketchup can be added to the mix, just after it is taken from the fire. To improve the taste of your sauce, you may include one or two tablespoons of spicy yellow mustard. This gives your sauce a bit of a kick.

One option is to sweeten the sauce by adding a little brown sugar or honey. Alternatively, if you want a spicier sauce, chop some red chili pepper or jalapenos. Another option is to create a fruity flavor by adding mangoes, apples or strawberries. You may look at using different options each time you make the sauce, to see which one you like best.

The traditional Kansas City barbecue sauce is thick and enhances the taste of meat when added to pork ribs. The preparation will take about ten minutes and the cooking takes about half an hour when using this recipe.
