Surprise Your Guests With Barbecue Side Dishes

Salads are the most versatile barbecue side dishes. They can be prepared ahead of time and will taste better if they are in the refrigerator overnight. A better option, is to prepare the salads on the morning of the barbecue, to maintain that freshness.

You can add flavors to salads, depending on the type of salad, you may add a little mayonnaise, and other rich ingredients. If you serve a green salad, then you need to wait until the last minute before adding the dressing and croutons.

You may also consider making salads for those who do not want the calories of mayonnaise and add olive oil or vinegar instead, depending on the ingredients in the salad.

Many vegetables and fruits can be safely cooked right on top of the grill, wrapped in foil. You can place peppers, bananas and cantaloupe on top of the grill and these are delicious when served hot off the grill.
