While most everyone knows what catering services are, not everyone may know that there are different types of catering to choose from. It all depends on what is needed and what type of event is being planned.

There are two different types of catering food service jobs that are normally used. One utilizes a mobile catering cart or vehicle to dispense food to individuals at different locations. The other type of catering is known as event catering.

Have you ever purchased a hot dog from a street vender? Or perhaps there is a vehicle that stops by your workplace serving coffee and sandwiches. This is one type of the different catering services that exist.

This type of catering is referred to as mobile catering. Many individuals use this type of catering often. For some it is an everyday routine and allows them to not have to find restaurants to eat at or to bring their lunch to work.

As long as there are weddings, wakes and functions for schools and business, there will be a need for catering. Event caterers however work differently than mobile catering services. Mobile catering carts may be owned by the individual that operates them or they may be part of a larger company or corporation that provides food service jobs.

With event catering companies, there is normally a large group of people that pull everything together for the event, while with mobile catering; it may actually be a one man show.
