Grapes are used for things such as making jams and jellies, pressed to make wine, grape oil used to make grape seed extract, turned into grape juice, dried to make raisins and even turned into vinegar.
There are a lot of different colors and varieties of grapes too. Seeded and seedless, small and big and of course, the many different colors such as: purple, green, blue, red and pink. Every different variety has a different taste and use. Every different grape makes different flavored wines.
Grape growing is done in a vineyard and different grapes can survive in many different locations. Grapes supposedly were first introduced to Europe in 600 B.C. by the Phocaeans. However, because of a pesky bug, grapes did not come to the U.S. until much later.
